Been truncating for a while, but going to use Burnermax...Safe for online?

I've been truncating my backups and have been offline for 2+ years now. This new release is out that requires an online connection to play. So I'm thinking of getting a burnemax-compatible drive and using burnermax to make a backup of the new release... Will I get banned? Is there such a thing as a log that keeps information on my discs inserted that will compromise me if I go online?
