Is the wasabi 360 right for me?

I was given an old phat 360 with a broken cd drive. I would like to convert it so It can play games off a laptop or computer hard drive.

Is this possible? I found out about wasabi and it seems like this fits my need. (I perfer no soldiering)

Also, when installing, is it possible to completely take out the cd drive since I wont be playing anything off cd's anymore. Is the wasabi dependent on the cd drive to function?

Also, I cant seem to find tutorials on what to do after successfully...
